We are proud to be supported by the North Ostrobothnia ELY Centre (JTF funding) in developing our innovative warming technology. The grant empowers us to further our mission to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions while providing smart, digitally controlled warming solutions. The project duration is 12.10.2023-31.12.2024, and the total budget is 204k€ of which the grant is 102€.
What goals do we aim for through this funding?
We aim to reduce the effect current heating systems have on our planet and are driven to reduce energy usage in heating across EU
We want to support Finland’s goal of carbon neutrality by 2025 by efficient use of materials in our warming solution and bringing sustainable warming to homes, buildings and other living spaces
We aim to minimize energy poverty across EU with our affordable warming solution for which the acquisition, installation and user costs are minimized
Use the grant funds to pilot projects in northern Finland to verify energy savings and positive handprint potential in different use-case scenarios.
How are we planning on executing this?
Five pilots will be built in Oulu and Rovaniemi to verify the energy saving potential and CO2 emission reduction with the Halia® warming solution. The pilots will enable positive carbon handprint calculations in different scenarios, and to create "warmth-as-a-design" expertise. In addition to technical measurements on energy consumption, we will initiate both human warmth experience testing and user interface tests.
Additionally, the project will help strengthen our resources, especially in the Oulu region, build networks and explore export opportunities.
Did you know?
Heating buildings in Europe account for 64% of total energy consumption and 20% of CO2 emissions.
The Warming Surfaces Company’s innovative heating technology is designed to reduce energy use by 20%, helping Finland meet its carbon neutrality by 2035 goal.
Through our pilot projects in Finland, we’re proving that smart, flexible heating solutions can cut energy use, reduce emissions, and create a positive environmental impact—globally.
